About the Artists

TAMO Art Gallery

Driven by his passion for surfing and the beach cultures of Hawai’i, California, Australia, and Shōnan, TAMO’s art is deeply rooted in the waves he embraced as a teenager in Japan. Through his art, he channels his emotions and delights in the ocean, with the aspiration of inspiring others to reflect on the beauty of nature and the sea. Drawing inspiration from the techniques of ukiyo-e and manga, TAMO’s distinct style is marked by his ability to depict people and landscapes through a surface-focused lens, accentuating crisp contrasts and defined outlines. His unique approach captivated numerous Hawai’i-based companies, fostering enduring relationships. His vibrant artwork mirrors the beauty of Hawai’i infused with his deep affection of the islands.

Sasha Art

Sasha is a Hawai’i based artist raised primarily in Hawai’i while moving between Japan, the United States from an early age, she developed her sensibility at the intersection of multiple cultures and values. Her artistic practice is rooted in the natural environment and culture of Hawai’i, guided by the philosophy of “Mālama ʻĀina” to care for the land and live in harmony with it. Her work draws inspiration from Hawai’i native plants, ocean life, and the subtle presence of mountains and land. Alongside her artistic practice, she has worked as an interviewer and reporter, sharing Hawai’i’s culture and voices of its people both locally and internationally. She is also the founder of Sasha’s Support Hawaii, an ongoing initiative dedicated to supporting Hawai’i-based small businesses, artists, and local communities.

Local Motion

Kenzie Williams
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. I enjoy spending my time creating art, hiking with my dog, and surfing. Living in Hawaiʻi has inspired me to spend as much time outdoors as possible, often with friends, exploring nature and the ocean. I have had a passion for art for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I was always coloring, painting, or drawing, and that love for creativity has continued to grow over the years. My art style has developed into something playful and expressive. Many of my surf paintings use bright, vibrant colors and have a slightly “trippy” feel to them. I also enjoy experimenting with subjects and styles, often adding a monster-like or graffiti-inspired look to my work. Through my art, I try to combine the energy of surfing, the beauty of nature, and a fun, imaginative style.

Wyland Galleries

Sophia Noel
Sophia graduated from the University of Michigan in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts from the STAMPS School of Art and Design and minors in Entrepreneurship, Business, and Global Media Studies (Film). Along with being signed as an exclusive artist to the Hawaiian Islands, Sophia works as a photographer + videographer for Third Stone Mfg. on the North Short of Oahu and is an artist apprentice to tiki artist Gecko of Gecko’s South Seas Arts. Sophia also designs for T&C Apparel, Mele Mele bakery, and more.

Kimo
Kimo has lived in Hawaii most of his life and quickly adopted the Aloha spirit with his friendly and easy-going mannerisms. His love of the ocean and concern for the environment help make his artwork contribute to the awareness of his great gift in nature. Kimo’s work captures all the mystic and magic of the marine animals so near to our Hawaii shorelines. Inspired by the beauty of the islands, his paintings are bright and full of color. His favorite works are energized by his own experiences in diving and contain themes of ocean and marine life.

Park West Gallery

Cam Rose
Cam Rose is a classically trained oil painter from West Des Moines, Iowa. She received a BFA in oil painting & minored in horticulture & art history from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Being raised on land with copious amounts of space to spread out proved ideal for Cam Rose and her big imagination. She was raised by parents who taught her to be independent, self-sufficient, and to never be bored in life. As a teen, Rose took a catering job at the Des Moines Art Center and attributes her drive to be a painter to a Sargent portrait that was in the permanent collection. Rose admits to still looking at a postcard version of the artwork today whenever she needs a creative spark.

Lance Fairly
Lance attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, where he received fundamental training that laid the foundation for his career as a fine artist. He then spent a short time working on the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, rebuilt a sailboat that had been destroyed by a hurricane, and finally, after learning to air brush, moved to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands for two winters. There he lived with a friend in "The Dolphin House", a site of early research in dolphin intelligence. Always in search of new adventures and better surf, Lance and his brother, Rory, were drawn to Hawaii. He was captured by the beauty, the friendly aloha spirit of the people, and the excellent surf of the Hawaiian Islands. He and his brother then started "Ocean Lines Hawaii", a successful surf wear company.

Eric Robison
Eric Robison graduated with honors from the Art Center College of Design and began his career as an artist when he was hired by Walt Disney Imagineering. As a concept designer, he worked on projects associated with Disneyland Resort Paris, Disneyland Resort Tokyo, Walt Disney World Resort, and of course, Disneyland Resort California. Eric Robison has a natural inclination to capture elements of tradition and twist them into an eclectic expression of visual imagery. His method of creativity is aggressive and bold. His unique, interpretive paintings of classic Disney characters were discovered by Imagineering President, Marty Sklar in 1989, and he’s been a best-selling artist in Disney’s theme parks, galleries, and stores ever since. Some highlights of his Disney pieces include the 30th Anniversary of the Haunted Mansion, Disney Decades for Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matterhorn painting [tribute to Herbie Ryman], and The original Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. In 2001, Eric was commissioned by Disneyland to create 100 Mickey Mouse portraits for Disneyland’s 100th birthday of Walt. This exhibit opened in 2002 and sold out in 3 weeks. Following up on the 100 Mickeys’ success was his interpretations of 50 Donald Ducks for the grand opening of the New York Disney store on 5th Avenue. Eric’s latest Disney project has been the 5th Anniversary painting for the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii.

Waikiki Ocean Gallery

Akima Kai
Akima Kai has been passionate about sharing her love of the ocean and mother nature thru her photography for over 20 years. She is an ocean photographer, mermaid model, free-diver, skin diving instructor, and tour guide. She got her first underwater camera in 1999. Fascinated with the underwater world and marine life she found her passion to be in the saltwater. She has lived in Japan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines. After 12 years of traveling the North and South Pacific Islands of Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Marshall Island, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa, Niue, she has finally found a place to call home here in beautiful Hawaii nei. Connect with the raw beauty of the Earth. When she opened her own gallery WAIMEA BLUE in Hawaii in 2019, she also began making her own Ocean art in addition to her photography. Her one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pieces of original art are inspired by and made in the surfing capital of the world: North Shore, Haleiwa, Hawaii. Using only locally grown reclaimed wood and epoxy resin, she likes to think of her wood art as breathing a second life into the tree. Akima has lived and traveled to over thirty countries, spending most of her time in the water. The blue of the ocean, its white waves, the sea breeze, and marine life are her sources of inspiration.
