Embassy SuitesĀ®-Waikiki Beach WalkTM Pre-Opening

On November 6, 2006, the Embassy Suites - Waikiki Beach Walk management team welcomed all employees (new and transferred) to the team. The day started with much anticipation and excitement as General Manager Bob Yeoman greeted everyone, Ka'ipo Ho performed a traditional Hawaiian blessing, and Executive Vice President Hospitality Services Barry Wallace gave words of encouragement, as he shared his past experiences with Embassy Suites. Old friendships were renewed and new ones made.

Employees have attended numerous Outrigger and Embassy Way training programs, as well as doing hands-on work at the property. Bartenders, Servers, and Cooks unloaded delivery trucks, while Bellpersons assembled Housekeeping carts. Guest Service Representatives vacuumed carpets and delivered bed sheets, as Maintenance employees wiped down walls alongside Housekeeping staff. Furniture was unpacked, phones assembled, pallets unloaded -- everyone did everything! The hard work continues, and the friendship bonds grow stronger.

Employees having fun at work is one of the fundamental objectives of the Embassy Suites - Waikiki Beach Walk. And yes, the employees are having fun! Mixed into all of the training and hard work are team building opportunities. Friendly team competitions and daily lunches together provide for much laughter and bonding.

Employees eagerly continue to forge ahead, with great anticipation of our opening day.
