Meet grandson of famed artist at Park West Gallery on June 24 and 25

Park West Fine Art Museum & Gallery in Waikiki will be proudly welcoming Alexandre Renoir, the great-grandson of famed artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir, on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

As part of the Park West Gallery Featured Artist Series, Renoir will host a live painting demonstration from 5-9 pm on Friday, June 24 to showcase his unique process. And on Saturday, June 25, guests can mingle with the artist in a complimentary cocktail party beginning at 7 pm.

The live demonstration on Friday is free and open to the public. The Saturday cocktail party is also free and open to the public but will only be available to those who RSVP prior to the event by emailing waikikibeach@parkwestgallery.com. Space is on a first come basis and is not guaranteed.

Alexandre is the second Renoir in history to become a professional artist. His work is collected in over 16 countries and has been featured alongside his great-grandfather’s art in the Tennessee State Museum. He bases his style on Impressionism, which was co-founded by Pierre-Auguste. Unlike his ancestor, however, he paints exclusively with palette knives focusing on nature-inspired compositions.

“Renoir is one of the most famous names in art, and to have Alexandre visit our gallery is an incredible honor,” said Arturo Torrez, Park West Hawaii Director. “He’s definitely influenced by the work of his great-grandfather, though he’s created his own unique style which really sets him apart and has won him fans and collectors all over the world.”
