THE HULA HO‘OLAUNA ALOHA REVUE

August 21, 2022 to August 21, 2022
For the first time since 2019, the Hula Ho‘olauna Aloha Festival will have an in-person presentation in Hawaii on Sunday, August 21st from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Waikiki Beach Walk Plaza Stage.

The Hula Ho‘olauna Aloha Festival was created in 2002 and organized by JALPAK International Japan to foster friendship through hula while celebrating Japan’s love for the hula with live performances in Hawaii by some of Japan’s most esteemed hula halau.

The prepandemic, in-person annual festival featured dozens of halaus performing over several event days.  The festival has been presented virtually since 2020, with the final virtual presentations in October.

The special August 21 presentation at Waikiki Beach Walk will be a unique, condensed sample of four halaus from Japan, along with some special appearances.

Participating halau and order of appearance are:

  • 4:30pm: Kumu Hula Leialoha Amina - Special Appearance
