As of last week, Oahu businesses have started to reopen on a new tier system following the end of a second Stay-at-Home order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government also announced its plan to begin a pre-travel testing program on October 15, 2020 in an effort to reopen Hawaii to tourism once more. With this news, our travel and hospitality industry can finally take a step forward towards revival.

While a majority of Oahu hotels are still preparing to reopen in the coming months (some slated for November and December), here are two properties that are ready to welcome guests with new offerings and updated safety measures for a worry-free getaway. Best of all, they are situated within walking distance to the beach as well as the boutiques and restaurants of Waikiki Beach Walk®.

Located in the heart of Waikiki, Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk is nestled among world-class shopping and dining — all while being just steps away from a stunning beach. The expansive property recently announced the completion of its multi-million dollar modernization, which includes brand new furnishings, local art installations and 369 newly styled suites designed to capture Hawaii’s unique sense of place.

“Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk offers an exceptional value for guests looking to take advantage of our modern and spacious suite accommodations, which are perfect for those traveling with family and friends. The impressive new suite design was inspired by our exquisite ocean destination, with warm hues of blue and green as well as Hawaiian patterns incorporated throughout the property to honor our host culture of welcoming guests with warmth and generosity.”

— Simeon Miranda, General Manager

The new-and-improved accommodations offer a range of views from Waikiki Views to Premium Ocean. Whether you choose a spacious one-bedroom or two-bedroom suite, each features a separate living area as well as various kitchen necessities, such as a microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and mini refrigerator, which guests can utilize even as they explore Waikiki Beach Walk’s vibrant culinary scene.

Venture into each room and you’ll find new Kapa Artwork, which was created by local artist Dalani Tanahy to evoke the richness of ancient Waikiki Beach and the natural channel of spring water running below the property (once referred to as “Kawehewehe” by Hawaiian royalty). Another notable art installation can be found on the hotel’s exterior in the form of two special kapa triangle patterns, symbolizing the relationship between guest, host and place as well as an iconic outrigger canoe sail.

Embassy Suites is making safety their top priority during this time. Your breakfast will be served to you by their friendly team and can be taken to-go from 6:30 to 9:00 a.m.

While the property has undergone physical enhancements, the same unwavering level of care has gone into enhancing their cleaning protocols. As part of the Hilton CleanStay with Lysol protection program, Embassy Suites has taken proactive measures to help ensure a clean and safe environment by incorporating a scientific approach to cleaning practices and product offerings. During this time of caution, here are some ways that Hilton CleanStay was developed to meet evolving expectations when it comes to health and hygiene.
  • Extra cleaning and disinfection of high-touch areas in your room
  • Contactless check-in

Thoughtfully restored to revive its vintage “Hawaiian Style” ambience, The Imperial Hawaii Resort offers five different suite types (complete with a full kitchen or mini kitchenette) in the heart of Oahu’s shopping, dining and entertainment epicenter. The hotel was recently recognized by TripAdvisor as a 2020 Travelers’ Choice award winner based on consistently positive traveler feedback, placing it within the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.

In addition to its ideal location near the world-famous shores of Waikiki Beach and the Waikiki Beach Walk® shopping center, The Imperial’s on-site amenities include a full-service concierge and activities desk, sauna, fitness room, massage therapy services, two outdoor hot tubs, and a rooftop pool perched 27 stories high with amazing views of the city, mountains and ocean. The resort also hosts live-streamed music events on their Facebook and YouTube pages, which showcase talented, local Hawaiian music artists. To see recordings of past performances, check out their Sharing Imperial Aloha Series and Aloha Friday Lunchtime Live Music Series.

Rest assured that while The Imperial’s cleaning protocols have always been held to the highest standard, new policies and procedures have been implemented recently as an extra precaution to safeguard the health of visitors and staff members.
  • Sanitization of high-touch surfaces using EPA-approved disinfectants is a focus in each guest room and all public areas.
  • Rooms are cleaned and inspected, then inspected again just prior to your arrival. A “clean seal” will be placed over the door frame before check-in to ensure safety and sanitation.
  • Safety shields have been installed at the front desk and in the reservations office.
  • Signage has been placed around the resort to reinforce social distancing and hand washing.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are also available throughout the hotel.
